Overview
This position is responsible for evaluating current and future enterprise infrastructure needs as well as managing the related staff and budget. The infrastructure director should have knowledge of current technology best practices as well as innovative ways to meet organizational goals while maintaining focus on secure implementations.
Qualification
A. Experience managing an Information Technology Service department, preferably in a higher education environment
B. Experience leading a team in an environment with high-availability infrastructure; examples may include servers, storage, databases, disaster recovery, virtualization, data center, operations monitoring, network communications and/or managed/cloud services
C. Hands-on experience in systems engineering (VMWare, Windows Server, Linux Server, Azure, AWS), networking (Cisco experience preferred), and/or network security
D. Experience managing large, complex technology projects
E. Current, industry certification in technology-related fields (e.g. ITIL, Security, CISCO, Microsoft, AWS, Azure, Linux)
F. Experience analyzing and overseeing the analysis of SLAs (Service Level Agreements)
Education
Bachelor’s Degree; Associate’s Degree; High School Diploma or G.E.D.
